Memoir Rough Draft

I had decided to help my cousins sell popcorn for boyscouts one day because they had asked me to come along and help. My cousins Barry, Joe and i  were standing outside of the Kroger food market along with the rest of their boyscout troop, trying to sell popcorn and make as much money as possible. My cousins and i were on one side and the rest of the troop was on the other side of the store entrance. For the first two hours we really didn't sell much at all we were just sitting there doing nothing and saying hi to everyone. My cousin Joe started getting aggravated and upset that they weren't selling anything. I told him to think of something that would draw their attention and get them to come over and encourage them to buy the popcorn. Barry had the idea to just have fun and dance around and sing(basically just act stupid), but then Joe said he would rap about the popcorn and "make it sound like a gods food". i thought it was a stupid idea but i was there to help them so i said why not.

After the troop got back from getting something to eat we got right into it. I started to beat box while my cousin Joe started to rap and my cousin Barry started to break dance. It was extremely funny, my little cousin Joe whose 11, 80lbs soaking wet raping as if he were a gangster, his had on sideways and his pants sagging and his scout shirt unbuttoned. My cousin Barry a big kid for 12 break-dancing, when he looks like all he does is sit on the couch all day.

Needless to say a lot of people started to stop and watch use and proceeded to buy the popcorn. They said they were going a great job in trying to sell the popcorn and that they were having fun doing it. My cousin Joe was ecstatic by the fact that they sold more popcorn in one day than they had in a whole week. He starts yelling and screaming at the other kids in the troop on the other side that they suck and can sell popcorn to save their lives.

Everything was going good sales wise until we got tired. Barry turned around and told Joe it was his turn to break dance and he would rap. Joe told just looked at him as if he was an idiot and said " but you suck at rapping and i would break my neck break-dancing". we just started laughing, started to pack everything up so we could go home and chill-out for the rest of the day.

when we got back to the troop and added out total to the other kids total they got upset tht we sold more popcorn than they had and started to question us on how we had made so many sales. we told them "we just had fun and entertained them". For the next few day i helped them sell popcorn but it had also become a competition on who could sell more popcorn, when i got out school id help them plan things to do. Even though i was only there to help them it was still really fun just to hang out with them and be able to sell items just by having fun.

I haven't talked to them in a while since i moved back to MA but they last time i did they said they made over $5000 in a week selling popcorn(the whole troop) and had broken the boyscout record in Virginia.
